50 Years and Counting . . . .
Congratulations to Bob Parks! For a half century he has been working for Sassanos’s Men’s Wear! Bob started working at the store on August 3, 1963, the same day Greg Sassano turned five years old! Bob has worked with three generations of Sassanos: Lawrence (AKA Shorty), who was the son of the original owner, Les and now Greg. Bob manages the store while Greg is at his “real” job and then Greg comes in on Fridays and Saturdays. You’ll often see Les there as well.
It says so much about the Sassanos, and the community of Old Town Clovis and Bob himself. You don’t see this very much anymore—a family business that has the same employee for 50 years! We thought it was such a special occasion that we declared August 9th, 2013 “Bob Parks Night” at the Farmers Market and awarded Bob a Certificate of Appreciation for his dedication to Sassano’s.
Bob and Dianna have been married 36 years now. Local boy meets local girl – they get married and have two lovely daughters and stay in Old Town. Every day Bob comes to work with a smile on his face and pleasant greetings for everyone with whom he comes into contact. That’s pretty sweet! Old Town is lucky to have Bob in our midst!
