Black Pot Cook-Off Cooks Wanted! Cowboy Poets too!

Sunday, April 14 will be the 2nd annual Black Pot Cook-off and Cowboy Poetry event in Old Town. It promises to be a great day! Watch the cooking teams serve up main and side dishes, breads and desserts. Cash prizes for winners and awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in all categories as well as People’s Choice Awards!

Cooking teams of up to four are welcome. A small fee is charged per cook which makes up the “purse” for the Grand Cash Prize. First time cooks, professional cooks and amateurs and a junior division – all are welcome. Learn from the pros! It’s a great hobby!

Period Artisans will be on hand to demonstrate the skills and arts of the era, including lacemaking, rug hooking, blacksmithing, saddlemaking etc. Music, food, entertainment and Dutch Oven cooking!

Cowboy poets needed as well! If you’ve got a poem, come read it at the event!

Tickets will be available in April for food sampling. They’ll be sold online with Pay Pal @ and at Hearts Delight, Bear Creek Gifts and Fifth Street Antiques, all located in Old Town.
