Second Annual Car Show a great success!
The second annual Old Town Clovis Car Show Sunday April 23, 2017 was a colorful event! People came from all around to show their car or to spend the day admiring the great mix of entries and to visit Old Town Clovis. Throughout the day, people enjoyed the smell of the wonderful food, the sound of the live music and the sight of the cars and friendly atmosphere of people visiting with one another. Car enthusiasts and families enjoyed walking the streets of Old Town Clovis admiring and discussing the detail, creativity and care that goes into owning some of the most beautiful cars ranging from Antiques, Classics and Vintage to the Hot Rod, Street Rod, and the most incredible Low Riders and Muscle cars. There were also many Pickups, Foreign and Custom / Modified cars that had the attention of many.
This show had it all! The judges had their work cut out for them. The car show morning began with a meeting of the judges to discuss the criteria of each of the Classes and Categories then the judges were off on foot examining each car for qualification and to calculate and determine the selections for each award. This was an incredible job taken on by our Judges, Merchants and Sponsors. There were over 300 cars to be judged and they were lined up for miles row after row, with a sea of beautiful colors. Everywhere you looked you could see the proud car owners finishing up with the final detail of polishing their wheels, dusting off the cars, cleaning the windows, and checking their engine for the shine. They were working on those last-minute touches in hopes of attracting the attention of the judges. All of the cars were prepared to be nominated for the People’s Choice award. This award was chosen by the registered car owners, who had the opportunity to seek out their favorite car of the show. This year’s Clovis Old Town Car show was a great success and a classic event. We surely look forward to next year’s event and encourage preregistration for those interested in entering the show April 18, 2018.
