Clovis Kiwanis Freedom Fest to be held at Clovis High’s Lamonica Stadium
The Freedom Fest, sponsored by the Clovis Kiwanis Club, is thrown each year on the fourth of July with the main attraction of course being the awesome display of fireworks. Unlike the past years, this year’s Freedom Fest will be held at Clovis High’s Lamonica Stadium, located at 1055 Fowler Ave., instead of Buchanan’s stadium due to current construction.
Despite the new location, this Fourth of July celebration will be memorable nonetheless. Not only can you expect to enjoy the patriotic-inspired fireworks but also live music, local food and snacks and even some special craft vendors.
The event will be this Saturday, the 4th of July. Gates open at 4pm but it begins around 6pm, and the fireworks will start after the sun sets. The three streets south of Clovis High will not be available for parking but both school parking lots will be available for parking with a $4 parking fee. Bus shuttles will also be taking people to and from the stadium around campus.
The entrance fee for the event is $5, so if you want to save the extra $4 parking fee, we suggest getting creative with your transportation, whether that means carpooling, bike riding or walking.
Reminder that pets, alcohol, glass, tobacco, fireworks and loitering outside the stadium is all prohibited. Pop-tents, easy-ups, folding chairs, blankets, food, beverages, ice chests and coolers are all allowed inside. There will also be no entering or leaving through the gates from 9pm till the end due to safety reasons.
