Hot August Nights

This past weekend the Clovis Elks Club hosted their Hot August Nights car show. On Saturday several Old Town Merchants participated in a “Poker Walk” involving their car show participants walking from store to store and getting a dealt card to add to their scores for the best hand. The merchants donated raffle prizes and the entire event went to raising money for the Purple Pig foundation. Started by the California-Hawaii Elks Association in 1950 the charity raises money for disabled children. This unique program funds 32 paid therapists and preschool vision screeners, hired by the organization, to help disabled children when no other organizations can or will. These professional therapists and preschool vision screeners travel, sometimes great distances, to help children get care they desperately need. On behalf of our local Elks Club, thank you for your generous support!
