How many hotdogs can YOU eat in 8 minutes?
Competitive eating has been around since the days of the cavemen! Sometimes we think competitive eaters LOOK LIKE cavemen! When it happens for a good cause it couldn’t taste any better!
Scoops, Soups & More and The Old Clovis Hotel Bistro have joined up to sponsor an “All American 4th of July Hotdog Eating Contest”. This fundraiser benefits the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3225 and their “Operation Rehab” which is working to provide the Fresno Veteran’s Hospital with new exercise and rehabilitation equipment.
We want to do all that we can to support them, so we hope you will join us on Friday, July 5th, 2013 at the Farmers Market in front of The Old Clovis Hotel Bistro to down some dogs. Entrants pay a fee of $10 with the chance to win a $50 grand prize. You will be given a time period of 8 minutes to eat all the hotdogs you can tolerate. Competitive eaters often tear their food into small bite size pieces for ease of shoving into their mouths, others dip the buns into water to moisten it for easy swallowing. You will be provided with a bottle of water, so either is allowable! The record for hotdog eating is 53 1/2 hotdogs in 12 minutes – set on July 4, 2004 (that’s 4.46 hotdogs a minute). Maybe we can break a record!
