Raisin Recipe Contest – Have you Entered?

The prequel to the all new Raisin Party at the Old Town Clovis Farmers Market on June 29th, is the Raisin Recipe Contest sponsored by the California Raisin Marketing Board, Institute of Technology Culinary Academy and First California Federal Credit Union. Who doesn’t remember grandmother’s raisin pie, or mincemeat pie (a filling of currents, dried fruits, including raisins, and sometimes meat). Rules and submission form are on our website oldtownclovis.org. We are allowing the use of artificial sweeteners for those who have requested this ingredient. The idea behind the contest is to use raisins in place of sugar, since raisins are sweet. The rest is up to you! Many categories to choose from– the sky is the limit!

Grand prize is dinner for four at Victoria Rose Restaurant. Emile Henry cookware is the prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Winning recipes will be chosen by the Institute of Technology, Culinary Academy and tested in their kitchen. Judges will make the final decision and winners will be announced at The Raisin Party, Friday night, June 29th.

This is a fun way to get involved with the first Raisin Party!
