Spring Old Town Clovis Wine Walk – HUGE Success

May 3rd was our first Wine Walk of 2014 and it was more successful than we could have imagined!  With other events happening the same day, we anticipated a smaller than usual crowd.  Boy were we surprised when we had to turn hopeful customers away!  This should show you the importance of buying your tickets ahead of time (other than the $10 saved per ticket if you plan ahead).  We normally plan for 1400 in ticket sales, but in the past have come closer to 1200.  Presale tickets were up and so were the amount of people paying at the door.

This year we accepted mobile credit card payments, making it even easier and quicker to get into the event.  Lines were moving quickly and the Wine Shop had a lot of early sales.  Lots of people wanted to open their bottles and enjoy the wine on the street – sorry guys! Our Liquor License only permits us to allow wine consumption INSIDE the stores.

We had some amazing new wineries this time around.  Pear Valley Estate Wine and returning winery, Clayhouse, out of Paso Robles; local vintners Twin Poms, Simonian Farms and 3 Oaks Vineyard; Farmer’s Fury out of Stratford; Casto Oaks out of Mariposa; Cardella Winery out of Mendota; and Ramos Torres from Porterville!  Other featured wineries included Burbank Ranch, Twisted Roots and Nobilo, were among other great sampling.  We hope to have many returning wineries for our October event and are already recruiting new and exciting wineries that have never before been to Old Town.

Guardians of the Ribbon, Fresno County Pink Heals Chapter brought out their pink Fire Truck and Police car! People took turns taking photographs and signing the truck and car in honor of their loved ones battling cancer. Simonian Farms donated 50% of the sales from their 3 Farmers Daughters Pink Moscato to the Pink Heals Foundation.  Morgan Canyon Band played throughout the night, providing the perfect musical backdrop for a fun time!  Lots of people were even spotted dancing!

Bank of the Sierra provided the beautiful commemorative wine glass!  We love partnering with Bank of Sierra for this event–this was the third time they have sponsored our Wine Walk!  A big thank you to Roy Salazar, Tony Cabrera and Liz Rogers for their support of this event!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our spring Wine Walk a great success!  We will be posting the shots from the photo booth, provided by Sonia Pineiro, on our Facebook page soon!  Look for information regarding ticket sales for the October 4, 2014 Wine Walk posted here soon!
